CCF File Editor
CCF files enable you to play level sets just like you can in the main part of Chip's Controls, except the level set can be anywhere on your computer and its file name can be more than 16 characters. However, the CCF file itself must still be in your Chip's Controls folder, and the CCF's file name can't be more than 16 characters (including the ".ccf").
Here's a screenshot of the CCF file editor, where you create and edit CCF files:
How to create, edit, and play .ccf files
- Open Chip's Controls.
- Select "I haven't created a chipc.exe yet" from the Play menu. (If you already did this for playing DAT and CCL files, then you don't have to do this step or the next step.)
- Select your original Chips.exe file, and click OK.
- Select "CCF Editor" from the Tools menu.
- If you are editing an already existing CCF file, select it from the dropdown list. If it is in your Chip's Controls folder, it should be in the dropdown list. If you are creating a new CCF file, type the name in the box (and include the ".ccf").
- Browse for the level set you want this CCF file to "represent".
- Enter the "fake last level" and the "real last level".
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 5-8 for each CCF file you want to create.
- Exit the CCF File Creator.
- Double-click on a .ccf file from the file list.
- Play! From now on, when playing a CCF file, you don't need to do steps 2-10. If you want to create a new CCF file, then you would do steps 4-10.
